Description:  Grab your leg warmers, this Halloween we're rewinding to San Francisco's forgotten cemeteries — the ones bulldozed, paved over, and shipped off to Colma like a breakup mixtape. We're talking a one-way ticket, totally gnarly history, and a walk through streets that used to be six feet deep with the dearly departed. We will meet at the Kong Chow Sojourner Tomb near the Legion of Honor in SF. From there we will visit the pet cemetery before turning south towards Buena Vista park. The total hike will be about 7 miles. Those with the spirit may choose an optional self-guided heavenly walk to Dolores Park, the site of a former cemetery if you did not know! We will not return to our starting point. Wear whatever gets you pumped — costume, cassette-tape necklace, neon everything, your "rotary" call. No dress code, just good vibes and comfortable enough to keep pace. So come on, don't be a flake. It's gonna be a "grave" time, and who knows, there may be ghostly treats on this city hike!

Bring / Wear: Plenty of water, lunch, sunscreen and hat for the sunny portions. Comfortable, sturdy hiking shoes.

Weather Policy: Hike will be canceled in the event of heavy/steady rain.

CARPOOLING INFORMATION:

Using public transportation is highly encouraged for this hike.  Parking is non-existant or expensive.
