Description: The adventure starts at the historic and BARTable Embarcadero Ferry Building. The ferry to Tiburon departs (on weekends) at 12:15pm from gate B from SF. This miniaturized cruise experience features bathrooms, a snack bar, and nice views from the upstairs deck.
The hike departs at 1:00pm from the Tiburon Statue, one block away from the ferry dock and 15 minutes after ferry arrival. We climb counter clockwise to Tiburon Ridge while observing a menagerie of natural and artificial landmarks across the bay in all directions. We'll take the Tiburon Ridge Trail through a mixture of dirt paths and small side streets. A sidewalk runs down all the way to a designated crossing at Tiburon Blvd. The shoreline hiking begins with a mile-long detour around the McKegney Green which has bathrooms and picnic tables, and (like most of the hike) features Mt Tam, likely with fog rolling over it, prominently. We'll then take the old historic Rail Trail to Bramble Beach. We'll walk along the lagoon side of Belvedere Island back to downtown Tiburon. The ferry leaves Tiburon at 5:15pm. If our pace is slow we can skip the McKegney Green detour. If we are fast and arrive back to the statue early, I have two very short out-and-back “excursion” hikes that start and end at the ferry dock.
Bring / Wear: Please bring LOTS of water, lunch, snacks, sturdy hiking shoes, bug spray, a hat, sunscreen, and hiking poles if you use them. Chocolate is always appreciated!
Weather Policy: Canceled in the event of heavy rain.

This hike requires a ferry ride. The ferry leaves the Ferry Building at 12:15pm. Please arrive in time to get tickets - don't miss the boat! Ferry Schedule
SF Meeting Time: 12:00 PM (ferry departure at 12:15pm).
Tiburon Meeting Time: 12:45 PM (parking is available in Lot A/B on Tiburon Blvd. for $5.00/day)
