Description: I led this hike in September at the end of the dry season. This time around, there will be water running in the creeks and falling at Dawn Falls. The route alternates between the oak woodland and redwood forests that form the backdrop of the towns of Southern Marin with great views of the bay and Mount Tam. The hike is mostly on fire roads. The first part is in the Camino Alto Open Space and can be used as a 2.6 mile out and back Level 1 hike for those wanting a shorter, easier option. The full hike follows a series of fire roads and trails through the Camino Alto, Blithedale Summit and Baltimore Canyon Open Space Reserves and loops back to our starting point.
Bring / Wear: Bring water, layered clothing, lunch, sunscreen, hiking boots and hiking poles if you use them. Dogs are allowed off-leash, under voice control.
Rain Policy: Canceled in the event of heavy rain.

Trailhead Meeting Place: Meet where Escalon Road meets the Escalon Fire Road. Google Maps Link
