Description:  There is almost nowhere in the Bay Area as magical as Pt. Reyes.
This hike will be completely in shade with Douglas firs, Big-leaf maples, hazelnuts and huckleberries competing for sunlight.  With the exception of the first mile the hike will be entirely on single-track trails.
We'll begin at the Five Brooks Ranch Trailhead, about 4.5 miles south of the main Pt. Reyes entrance.  After the first mile on a fire road, we'll arrive at the beginning of the Greenpicker Trail, called that because, prior to the founding of the Golden Gate National Recreation Area (GGNRA) in 1972, it was just public land.  People would pick greens there and sell them at the SF Flower Market.  The trail is absolutely stunning.  Leaving the Greenpicker we'll take the Ridge, Bolema and finally Olema Valley Trails.  The uphill is at the beginning of the hike and is quite gradual.  I scouted this route in late July, and passed no other hikers.  
Unfortunately, dogs are not permitted in the Pt. Reyes National Seashore.  

Bring / Wear:  Please bring plenty of water, lunch, snacks, sturdy hiking shoes and hiking poles if you use them.  And layers: Pt. Reyes weather is never what you expect!  And chocolate!

Weather Policy:  Check with hikeleader in the event of questionable weather.

Trailhead Meeting Place:  Depending on what Google Maps suggests, you can either take Panoramic Hwy to Olema, then head south for 4+ miles, or take Hwy 1 the entire way.  In either case, expect to find yourself behind some slowpokes.  We'll meet near the bathrooms.  Parking is free.   Google Maps Link
