Description:  This appears to be the FIRST time the hiking club has ever explored this part of Chabot Regional Park. We will hike upstream along Grass Valley Creek up to Bort Meadow. We'll then take the scenic, but at times steep, Ranch trail to the ridge, with fabulous views. We'll then take the Buckeye Trail back down to the meadow for a civilized lunch on picnic tables. We'll return on the other side of the creek on the Brandon Trail. Views, gurgling brook, grasslands, forest, this hike has it all. Dogs are welcome.

Bring / Wear:  Water, lunch, sunscreen and hat for the sunny areas, poles for the steep sections, layers for a winter hike.

Weather Policy:  Canceled in the event of heavy rain.

Trailhead Meeting Place:  Clyde Woolridge Staging Area.  Take 580 South to Golf Links Rd.  Turn left and follow uphill, keeping left on Grass Valley Road.  The trailhead is at the junction of Grass Valley Road and Skyline.  Google Maps link
