Hike Rating:  Level-2 (or Level-4)  Note: Both hikes will happen sequentially.

Hike Mileage:  4.7 (or 12)

Elevation Gain:  732 (or 1,959)

Description Loop 1:  Led by Robert, starting from the Oak Grove Picnic Area we'll hike a short loop (4.7 miles, 732' elevation) on Deer Creek and the Abrigo Valley Trails, returning to Oak Grove for lunch. 

Description Loop 2:  Led by Leonard, those wishing to continue after lunch will hike a longer (7.3 miles, 1,227' elevation) loop along Black Oak, Briones Crest, Table Top, Crescent Ridge, and Bear Creek Trails, returning to Oak Grove and the cars.  Note: If you do both hikes the final end time will be around 4:30p.

If you are carpooling, make sure everyone in your car is doing the same hike (i.e., Loop 1 or...  Loop 1 and Loop 2).

Bring / Wear:  Please bring plenty of water, lunch, snacks, sturdy hiking shoes and hiking poles if you use them. Dogs are allowed, but must be leashed in the picnic area and in areas where cattle are present.

Rain Policy:  Canceled in the event of heavy rain.

Dogs:  Woof, yes!  

Are you up for the hike?  If so, here are the meeting options...

• SF Meeting Location:  Whole Foods (map) @ 2001 Market Street.  Meet on the Dolores Street side.  There's parking on the street or below the building.

SF Meeting Time:  9:30 AM (departure shortly thereafter).

• East Bay Meeting Location:  Rockridge BART station (map).  Meet at the bottom of the escalators.  There's free and ample parking.

East Bay Meeting Time:  9:40 AM (departure shortly thereafter).

NOTE:  Please only show up at Whole Foods or the Rockridge BART station if you have a ride arranged ahead of time (see Carpool Fees below).

• TRAILHEAD MEETING LOCATION:  We will meet at the Oak Grove Picnic Area, Bear Creek Staging Area (map).  Note:  There are three (3) different parking lots.  After you've entered the park, take the first left into the parking lot where we will meet.

Trailhead Meeting Time:  10:00 AM (hike begins at 10:15 AM).

Total Driving Distance (round trip):  48 miles (SF), 24 miles (Rockridge BART).

Carpool Fees (per passenger):  $8* (SF) or $3 (Rockridge BART).

*Includes bridge toll.

NOTE:  I'll reach out to those registered who have indicated that they need/want a ride or can take passengers.  If you need to contact me for whatever reason, please do so before Friday @ 3:00 PM the day before the hike.
