Meeting Location (ONLY IF you've arranged for a ride from SF): Whole Foods; 2001 Market St. @ Dolores (on the Dolores St. side); parking on the street or below.
Meeting Times: 9:30 AM from SF, departing shortly afterwards; 9:25 from Rockridge, bottom of escalator.

Mileage: 5 or 6 miles (a shortened version is optional)
Elevation Gain: 800'
Description: We begin on Hoo-Koo-E-Koo trail, which ascends very gradually, first in deep forest, and then more open terrain across the top of Blithedale Canyon. We then follow beautiful Corte Madre Creek trail along a gushing stream. The only steep section is the short Horseshoe fire road up to Blithedale Ridge. Those preferring the shorter hike can hike down to the Southern Marin Line Fire Road back to the cars. The rest of us will continue along Blithedale Ridge, with wonderful views, and then the Huckleberry Trail, containing, in addition dense redwoods, views of San Francisco Bay. The hike continues along flat Southern Marin Line Fire Road, with a short detour down to Dawn Falls, one of the most beautiful when the water is flowing. DOGS ARE WELCOME.
Bring / Wear: Water, lunch, layers for a winter hike, sunscreen for any sunny areas, poles for the downhill sections and stream crossings. And chocolate!!
Weather Policy: Hike will take place rain or shine.
Trailhead Meeting Place: The Crown Road Trailhead. Once in Marin, take Highway 101 to the Sir Francis Drake/ San Anselmo exit (west). When you see the Fire Station on the right, turn left onto College Ave. In a few blocks turn right at the Stop onto Woodland. In a couple of blocks, at a Stop turn left onto Evergreen. Take Evergreen until it hits Crown Rd. Stay left on Crown Rd. Parking is on the left side of the road. (Note: not to be confused with upper Crown Rd!) Google Maps Link
