SF Meeting Location: Whole Foods @ 2001 Market St.  Meet on the Dolores St side.  There's parking on the street.

SF Meeting Time: 9:00AM (departing shortly thereafter)

East Bay Meeting Location: Rockridge BART station.  Meet at the bottom of the escalators.  There's free and ample parking.

Rockridge Meeting Time: 9:00AM (departing shortly thereafter)

NOTE: You will be contacted if you've indicated you need a ride/can offer a ride by the Friday afternoon before the hike.  Please only show up at the SF or Rockridge meeting location if you have a ride arranged ahead of time. After 3:00pm Friday, It may not be possible to accommodate those needing a ride.

Description:  People have been drawn to Bear Creek Redwoods Preserve for centuries.  It's expansive views and cool, shaded forests made it a desirable South Bay property that was once slated to become a golf course and luxury estates.  Formed by earthquakes and forests streams, and inhabited by Native Americans, loggers, wealthy estate owners and even a religious institution, the property has been shaped by many faces and many hands throughout its history. Its beautiful biologically rich ecosystem is home to hundreds of acres of second growth redwoods, providing the perfect habitat for many protected species. There's even a section of old growth redwoods that we'll pass through!  This is a new hiking location for SFHC....come explore with me!
