Description:  Garin and Dry Creek Parks are hidden gems tucked in the hills behind Hayward but feel miles and decades away.   The cattle ranches and orchards here have changed little since their 1800’s homestead days.   Our hike is a double loop with the Vista Peak/Ziele Creek making up the first loop of approx 5 miles. We will lunch afterwards; those who want to make it an easier/shorter day may depart from here. The hike will continue on an afternoon loop to High Ridge Trail, back down Meyers Ranch and conclude by Dry Creek, a mostly shady riparian trail. The higher elevations of each loop have great views of the Coyote Hills, the South Bay, and the Santa Cruz Mtns.

Bring / Wear:  Please bring plenty of water, lunch, sturdy hiking shoes, and hiking poles if you use them. Most of this hike is exposed. Dogs are welcome off leash; however, due the presence of cattle in some places, please have a leash handy.

Weather Policy:  Canceled in the event of rain.

Alternate Meeting Place:  Rockridge BART at the bottom of the escalator.
