Meeting Date and Day: Saturday, June 19, 2021

Meeting Location (unless you've arranged for a ride): Whole Foods;
        2001 Market St. @ Dolores; parking on the street or below.
Please only show up at Whole Foods if you've arranged to meet your ride or driver there.

Meeting Time: 9:00 AM

Departure Time: 9:15 AM

Rating:  Level 2 or 3

Mileage: 6 miles

Elevation Gain: 1000'

Description:  The hike will provide two options: A moderate 6 mile hike with two short steep sections, and a relatively easy 5 mile hike with all moderate ascents and descents.  Both hikes will start on East Ridgecrest Blvd. above International Trail, which we'll take down to the Northside trail and head west.  At Potrero Meadows the 6 milers will go down along the gorgeous Swede George Creek to High Marsh trail, and then up the Cross Country Boys trail (steep for about 1/4 mile).  The 5 milers will take the moderate Kent Trail, and meet the others at the junction of Cross Country Boys.  After lunch together, we'll all take the Lower Northside trail to Colier Spring.  The 6 milers will go east, take the short but challenging Lagunitas fire trail to the lovely Midget trail, and back to the cars.  The 5 milers will go west back to the International trail, and up to the cars.  Hikers can decide at each junction which route they want to take.

PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF YOU NEED A RIDE AND/OR CAN TAKE A PASSENGER, AND WHAT YOUR COMFORT LEVEL IS REGARDING PASSENGERS.

Bring/Wear:  Water, lunch, hiking poles for the few steep sections (most of the route has good footing), sunscreen and hat for the few sunny sections.
Hiking poles would be helpful in some spots.

Rain Policy: Hike will take place rain or shine.

Alternate Meeting Place: East Ridgecrest Blvd. on Mt. Tamalpais. Take Hwy 101 north to the Golden Gate Bridge to Hwy, 1 toward Stinson Beach; turn right on Panoramic Hwy at the sign to Mt. Tamalpais, continue to Pantoll ranger station, and turn right (uphill) on Pantoll Road. At Rock Spring continue right on East Ridgecrest. Where the road dips down between East and Middle Peaks, there will be parking on both sides of the road.
