FOR THOSE WHO HAVE BEEN VACCINATED AND ARE COMFORTABLE SHARING A RIDE, WE WILL BE MEETING AT THE ROCKRIDGE BART STATION AT THE TIME NOTED BELOW. PARK IN THE LOT NEAR THE ESCALATOR (for a few minutes). PLEASE CHECK WITH THE HIKELEADER FIRST. MASKS WILL BE REQUIRED.

Description: This popular hike along the Falls Trail on the northern side of Mt. Diablo will take us past several waterfalls, creek side strolls, and some very steep switchback climbs with nice views of the Sacramento River delta from the high points of the trail. There should still be a substantial number of wildflowers still in bloom! Please note, many parts of the trail are narrow and rocky, or steep and rocky, so sturdy shoes are a MUST.  

Contra Costa County has relaxed its group-size restrictions.  Masks and distancing are still required.

PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF YOU NEED A RIDE AND/OR CAN TAKE A PASSENGER, AND WHAT YOUR COMFORT LEVEL IS REGARDING PASSENGERS.

Bring/Wear:  Bring plenty of water, lunch, layers for a spring hike, hat and sunscreen for the sunny portions. Hiking poles would be VERY useful. and your MASK.

Rain Policy: Canceled in the event of moderate rain.  Please contact the hikeleader if there's any doubt.

Alternate Meeting Place: We'll meet at Mitchell Canyon entrance to the park. At Hwy 24 and 680 interchange, exit onto Ygnacio Valley Road. Turn right onto Clayton Road (7.5 mi.) and right onto Mitchell Canyon Road (1 mi), which ends at the parking lot by the trailhead. Please meet us at the south end of the lot by the gravel pile. Google Maps Link
