Meeting Place: Bear Creek Staging Area for Briones Regional Park at 9:30 am. After crossing the Bay Bridge take I-580 to Highway 24 toward Walnut Creek. Take the Orinda exit and turn left on Camino Pablo. Turn right on Bear Creek Road, and continue to signs for Briones Regional Park. We'll be leaving from the last parking area.  Google Maps Link

Mileage: 8 miles

Elevation Gain: 1650'

Description:  The hike traverses beautiful oak woodland and grasslands in the middle of Contra Costa County. Along the double loop we'll take Seaborg trail to Russell Peak trail with spectacular views of Mt. Diablo, Solano and Marin Counties, and then the Mariposa and Crescent Ridge trails. There should be a variety of wildflowers.

Contra Costa County has relaxed its group-size restrictions.  Masks and distancing are still required.

PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF YOU NEED A RIDE AND/OR CAN TAKE A PASSENGER, AND WHAT YOUR COMFORT LEVEL IS REGARDING PASSENGERS.

Bring/Wear:  Bring water, lunch, snacks, sturdy hiking shoes, and a hat and sunscreen for the sunny areas. A portion of this hike is on exposed trails And your MASK.

Rain Policy: Canceled in the event of heavy rain.

Driving Distance: 49 miles total there and back
