Description: This is a relatively easy, mostly shaded loop in Redwood Regional Park, the east bay's prettiest park. We'll start along the Bridle Trail, and after a very short uphill section, continue along the gorgeous French trail, mostly flat or undulating. Except for a 1/10th mile short steep section up, this is an undemanding but very scenic route. Dog friendly, and on half of the course dogs can be off leash.
Bring/Wear: Water, lunch, sunscreen for the limited sunny areas.
Rain Policy: Hike will take place rain or shine

Total Bridge Tolls and Entry Fees: $5 parking fee
Car Pool Fees: $5 per passenger from SF; $3 per passenger from Rockridge BART

Alternative Meeting Place #2: Canyon Meadow Staging Area of Redwood Regional Park. From San Francisco go to the Bay Bridge, take 580 east, then highway 24 toward Walnut Creek. Take highway 13 south. Exit on Redwood Road, turn left, and continue to the top of the hill at Skyline. Continue on Redwood Road down 2 miles, and turn left at the Redwood Regional Park sign. Continue to the end of the road. Then From Rockridge BART take Keith Avenue to highway 24, then follow the instructions above from San Francisco.
