Description: We'll begin at the Tennessee Valley trail head and proceed past the stables climbing up the Old Springs Trail to the Miwok trail. From there we can enjoy the views on the Wolf Ridge trail to Hill 88, and explore the ruins. After that we'll descend the steep Coastal Trail to the Upper Tennessee Valley Trail, proceeding to Tennessee Valley beach. We can explore the lookout, have lunch, and spend some time on the beach, returning via the Lower Tennessee Valley trail to the parking lot. There were an abundance of wild flowers on this hike when I scouted it on May 2. I hope there will still be some on our hike.
Bring/Wear: There is no water at the trail head or the the beach, so bring at least two liters of water. Much of the trail is open so have layers of clothing for possible hot sun, cold fog, and wind, etc. Sturdy hiking boots recommended. Have your lunch and goodies, if you'd to share at the beach. There are porta-potties at the trail head and near the beach.
