One of our original members, and former president Felix Smith died on October 15, 2018 at age 98. Felix was an enthusiastic hiker and hikeleader in the Bay Area for decades. He hosted several club events at his home in the Castro.
Felix was a research physicist at Stanford and continued to write and publish well into his 90s. He served in the US Navy during World War II.
We offer our condolences to Fred Teti, Felix's husband, and to his many friends and family.
A memorial gathering will take place on Saturday, November 17th, from 1:00 - 4:00 PM. There will be a program from 2:30 - 3:15. Light refreshments will be served.
